{"id":762,"date":"2009-11-28T10:55:08","date_gmt":"2009-11-28T18:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mathpirate.net\/log\/?p=762"},"modified":"2009-11-28T10:56:12","modified_gmt":"2009-11-28T18:56:12","slug":"binary-incompatibility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mathpirate.net\/log\/2009\/11\/28\/binary-incompatibility\/","title":{"rendered":"Binary Incompatibility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got some information that might explain what was going on with all those OpenCV errors.\u00c2\u00a0 Apparently the version of the DLLs installed with the Windows Binaries package for OpenCV 2.0 aren&#8217;t exactly the Windows versions of the binaries.\u00c2\u00a0 They&#8217;re MinGW compiled libraries, and therefore might have a few <em>slight<\/em> incompatibilities with the OpenCVSharp package.<\/p>\n<p>In order to get a version that, you know, works, I&#8217;m going to have to compile it myself using CMake.<\/p>\n<p>No.\u00c2\u00a0 No no no.<\/p>\n<p>THIS IS WHY I DON&#8217;T USE LINUX.\u00c2\u00a0 I like my software pre-compiled and working.\u00c2\u00a0 I don&#8217;t like spending hours tracking down dependencies that I shouldn&#8217;t even care about.<\/p>\n<p>Go to hell, Richard Stallman.\u00c2\u00a0 This is all your fault.<\/p>\n<p>When I buy a pizza, I don&#8217;t have to put the sauce, cheese and toppings together myself.<\/p>\n<p>When I buy a book, I don&#8217;t have to arrange the pages on my own.<\/p>\n<p>When I buy a car, I don&#8217;t have to collect various tools and assemble it.<\/p>\n<p>Can you imagine the collective cries of anguish if people who bought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 a couple of weeks ago\u00c2\u00a0had to .\/configure, make, make install before playing?<\/p>\n<p>Most people can&#8217;t even us<\/p>\n<pre>FATAL ERROR\r\n'\/usr\/home\/cwp2\/complaint.so': Compile Failed:\u00c2\u00a0 Requires GLIBC &gt;= 2.0.6-i386<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got some information that might explain what was going on with all those OpenCV errors.\u00c2\u00a0 Apparently the version of the DLLs installed with the Windows Binaries package for OpenCV 2.0 aren&#8217;t exactly the Windows versions of the binaries.\u00c2\u00a0 They&#8217;re MinGW compiled libraries, and therefore might have a few slight incompatibilities with the OpenCVSharp package.
